How to Prepare for Your Tattoo Appointment

A little preparation makes your session more comfortable and helps your tattoo heal well. Here is what our artists at Tattoo Point in Costa Mesa ask every client to do.

The day before

  • Get a good night’s sleep.

  • Skip alcohol. It can make you bleed more during the session.

  • Keep the area moisturized, but don’t sunburn it. We may reschedule over burned or irritated skin.

On the day

  • Eat a proper meal before you come.

  • Wear comfortable clothes that give easy access to the tattoo area.

  • Bring a valid photo ID. You must be 18 or older.

  • Planning to use numbing cream? Tell your artist before your appointment.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding? We recommend postponing your tattoo.

What to bring

  • Your ID

  • Water and a snack for longer sessions

  • Headphones or something to watch. Friends are welcome too.
